This is a solid resin cast replica of the skull from Anhanguera blittersdorffi. This animal was a piscivorous pterosaur that had an ornamented snout and a bite weaker than a house cat. Pterosaurs in general were extremely well adapted for flight, with light and strong bones as well as a strong wing membrane reinforced by criss-crossing protein fibers.
Pterosaurs may have had a body covering of fuzzy pincofibers, but this has not been objectively proven. Pterosaurs were extremely awkward on the ground, crawling on all fours with their limbs extended at strange angles, making them easy prey when injured or otherwise grounded.
