A beautiful example of early British pink lusterware, this antique cup and saucer set dates to the 19th century and features transfer-printed black scenic decoration with a hand-applied pink lustre rim and a gilded handle accent. Origin is Britain, c. 1825–1850 (Staffordshire / Sunderland style). Black transferware scenic design on both cup & saucer. Pink lustre rim with iridescent glaze. Gilded handle accent. Measurements: Saucer approx. 5.25” wide; Cup approx. 2.75” tall, 3.75” wide to handle. Base features impressed letters that appear to read “JP” (or possibly “IP”) along with an “X” mark — typical of 19th-century tally or workman’s marks on English pottery. Preowned antique condition. Light surface wear consistent with age; no cracks or major damage observed. Minor expected glaze wear typical of 19th-century lustreware. Please review photos for details. Asking $55 or best offer. Please comment or message with any questions.
