Late Victorian (c. 1880–1890) Beautiful crescent "moon" shape with intricate floral engraving and rope-twist border. A classic example of the Aesthetic Movement. This is a gold-filled/rolled gold piece. There is visible wear to the gold plating on the back (brassing) where the base metal shows through, which is common for its age. There is a historical lead-solder repair at the 12 o'clock position (shown in photos). It appears a loop or jump ring was once attached here.
