Mirro Aluminum Jello Mold in the Melon Shape produced by Mirro Corporation of Manitowoc, Wisconsin. THEY MADE THESE FOR SEVERAL YEARS. NOT SURE OF THE YEAR ON THIS ONE (50'S-60'S?). The Mirro Jello Mold features a fluted edge AND RIBBED BODY IN AN OVAL SHAPE. I ALWAYS THINK OF THESE AS BEING SQUASH SHAPED, BUT TECHNICALLY THEY ARE CALLED MELON. GREAT FOR MAKING ANYTHING, HOT OR COLD, MOLDED. ALSO CAN BE USED TO BAKE CAKES, MUFFINS, BROWNIES--INTO A COOL SHAPE.
THEY ARE LARGER THAN THEY LOOK--HOLDING ABOUT 2 1/2 cups of liquid (ABOUT 20 OUNCES). It measures ABOUT 2 1/2" inches tall and 4 3/4" inches wide and 7" inches long. It is marked: "Mirro – The Finest Aluminum – Made In U.S.A."
