Extremely rare (especially in this large crystal size!) specimen of museum quality Carletonite from the Poudrette Quarry at Mont Saint-Hilaire in Quebec, Canada. Carletonite is a rare silicate mineral. Its tetragonal crystals are a translucent blue and white with a vitreous luster. This high grade collector’s piece features lustrous and saturated royal blue and navy carletonite crystals with accents of gemmy calcite and quartz. The blue bladed crystals are terminated with areas that are extra gemmy and glassy. The blue looks stunning when backlit, showing a vivid glow. The specimen is also a bit UV fluorescent and glows under UV lighting. Beautiful example of a rare and highly collectible mineral. Great small cabinet display size at about 1.5 x 1.25 inches. Includes the collection mineral ID / locale info card.
