Steiff Clown Replica 1928 is a limited edition whose mohair has been carefully dyed and then bleached to mimic the effects of decades in the sun. He is stuffed with wood shavings, just as they were in 1928, and has a squeaker inside. Fully jointed with his pleated collar which is made of silk organza and edged in burgundy. A felt clown’s hat has golden pompons together with a nose and mouth which have been handstitched with a golden coloured thread to match the pompons. The bear is skilfully hand airbrushed around his paw pads to give this bear an overall 'antique' look. Only Steiff take such care in making their bears. Limited edition of 1,928 worldwide. Surface washable. White label with famous Steiff 'underscored' patinated steel button in the ear, just as the original bear found in the archives
